Contests and games just have a way of creating buzz. They’re so fun, and when they get enough steam and momentum, can really make you think differently about a product or brand. And we all remember the good times from the Ice Bucket Challenge. That said, below are a handful of musings we came up with to kickstart the Filtrete + Speck launch via fun and games. Enjoy!

  • Video contest. How about some real-life video stories about how people improved their in-home air quality (and accordingly, their quality of life)? You could have a contest and have people vote on social media. The winner of the best video would get a huge prize, like maybe a lifetime supply of Filtrete filters!
  • Social media giveaway. You could do a giveaway of some kind with social media, where you say to send us a photo of your home before and after with the Speck monitor in the image. Participants could show dust particles and cooking smoke/steam before leading to a high air rating, and then after, with clean air and the reading significantly lower.
  • Gamifying filters. What if the whole experience was gamified? Consistently monitoring and then replacing your filters on-time with Filtrete earns you points. Referring the Filtrete + Speck program and getting others to purchase gets more points. Other ways to earn points could be: signing up for the subscription service or improving your in-home air quality score substantially. All these activities could lead to some big prize or sweepstakes, while you earn trinkets along the way, such as free a free filter or two.
