Subscription Prescription
We’ve put a lot of thought into what a Filtrete subscription service could look like. And we want this service, if it were to happen, to be the best it can be, which means it has to do a lot of things well. Be simple yet innovative. Offer options, but also offer the ability to change our plan on a dime. And of course, be simple, easy, and with savings. Here’s a glimpse of what a few of us came up with:
Quentin’s Ideal Subscription Plan:
- Shipment should have both the Filtrete Smart Air Filter and Speck. A brochure of the products and a coupon or gift card as thank you for the subscription should be included as well.
- Shipping should not go up higher than $15 (for the initial shipment).
- Shipping subsequent filters every 2-3 months works well.
- I’d like it (the old filter) to be recycled or maybe sent back to the company because it’s better for the environment to recycle.
- They should offer educational tips as part of each/some shipments. It will help the subscriber to promote the product if they want to share it with family or friends.
- I think they should also offer a pick up at the store order instead of shipping, because shipping can cost a lot. Though it would still be a subscription, it would be ready for pick-up -- a package just for you.
Jesse’s Ideal Subscription Plan:
It would be great if you could set it up to automatically send filters when your current one is below a certain percentage of usefulness:
- Every 2-3 months you'd receive a new filter.
- It would be awesome to be able to recycle the old filter. Maybe you just re-use the box you receive the new filter in?
- If you're using the Speck sensor, maybe sending personalized tips on how to improve air quality based on what the sensor has recorded?
- A reasonable cost for receiving a new filter and recycling the old one could be the price of the filter plus an extra $5-10 convenience cost.
Meagan’s Ideal Subscription Service:
I see this working like Amazon' subscription service:
- To encourage people to sign up, you could offer a little sample of a cleaning product to help your home’s air. It could be a simple, colorful Microfiber rag.
- The shipment would be every two months and would cost around $20.
- Could Filtrete make the filters recyclable, rather than taking the old filters away?
- I would definitely like to see tips on how to keep the air quality of your home high. Just like Blue Apron, in each of their boxes, they have a notecard with simple cooking techniques. It’s so educational, and I look forward each month to this informational cooking letter.
Aaron’s Ideal Subscription Service:
- I think free shipping is one of the most enticing things about subscriptions. Even if the shipping cost is built into the subscription, that is more appealing than seeing a price and then getting hit with shipping at checkout.
- As for perks, it would be nice to get a shipment free after so many deliveries, or perhaps a discount for signing up for a year.
- If old filters could be recycled back in the packaging they came in, that would be neat. Or if recycling them, you get a credit? Like bottles do in some states?
- Frequency of shipment should be customizable. Since we don't have pets or major allergies, I feel like we could stretch our filter life a little more.
- Education stuff could be neat. Maybe as a newsletter through email? Or statistics emailed to you about trends in the area?
- Being able to pause, and change subscriptions would be needed. Also, being able to change the size if we were to move or get a new furnace would be great.
- Finally, having a chat system for customer support would be a nice feature because sometimes that is easier than waiting on a phone queue.
Janet's Ideal Subscription Service:
- I am looking forward to receiving two air filters, a Speck, a Filtrete sensor, a manual/guide, and instructions.
- From then on, I am happy to receive filters every 2-3 months. A filter that can be recycled that is.
- Each shipment should cost around $15-$25.
- Filtrete +Speck should offer education tips as part of each shipment.
