About

The Big Mission.

Who are we, and what are we doing? Great question.

We are researchers from Bovitz, Inc., a research firm headquartered in Los Angeles. We believe in putting people first. This means giving humans, every type of human, a powerful voice. A voice to not just influence business decisions, but to change the very course of them. You see, we find how often that voice is ignored in favor of the bottom line unacceptable. Profits and people’s needs don’t have to be on opposing teams.

So, we’re in the business of standing up for people. We offer truth, sympathy, needs, frustrations, hopes and dreams on behalf of all walks of life. We hope this ethos motivates you, inspires you to fight for good – in your job, in your personal life, in your very soul.

With all this in mind, this project embodies this heartbeat. How can we take something so passive, so uninviting as in-home air filters and transform the experience into one that makes people’s lives better? Their health. Their purchase decisions. Their very ability to take care of their families. Yes, we believe it’s possible, and moreover, it’s sorely needed. Many of us just don’t realize it yet; we don’t realize the very power that something so innocuous as air filters can bring. So we’re on a mission; will you explore with us and join us?

We ethnographically explored two unique markets – Orlando and Minneapolis in early February 2017.

We then also created a national, online community to continue our education.

We approach field research with child-like wonder, curiosity, and boldness, designing activities and discussions that kindly and gently allow people to open up and become more self-aware. Understanding people at a deep level can help us move beyond “why” and into “what if’s” that can drive empathetic innovation.

To keep a record of these activities, we have built this blog. We’d like to keep you informed on current sentiments within the air filter category, as we continue to learn from those who know air filters best.

We’re exploring today’s needs and practices, new ideas for the future, and will ultimately hone in on an experience that empowers this powerless category.

Enjoy!
