Hi.

Welcome to the Active Air research blog by Bovitz, Inc. We're documenting our adventures in helping build a new, game-changing filter system. Hope you enjoy!

Standing Out From The Crowd

Standing Out From The Crowd

Filters are seemingly haphazardly thrown on the shelf without meaning or care at every store. We want the Filtrete experience to change the game and jump off the shelf. Here are a handful of our thoughts unfiltered:

  • They are usually all bunched together; make it a unique color to stand out more.
  • I would appreciate it if Filtrete and Speck have their own kiosk and not be mixed up with other brands. The filters in-store today are a mess.
  • Have someone in store at a display and demonstrate the app, including how to download and use the app for non-savvy tech customers. I don’t like how some stores just have a bunch of filters thrown together on a rack…with the sizes all mixed up.
  • The filter aisle is very boring. I want to spend as little time as possible there, so I find my size and walk out. I think an aisle end cap or a section of the filters moved, with the Speck display set up and running with the information about the benefits would be great. Anything bright or cool looking would draw attention.

Tony desires a connection be made in-store to other smart home products:

  • Most filter displays in store are a jumbled mess!! Set up a neat, interactive display of Filtrete products separate from the mess of others. Offer the app and monitor as incentive to set up home delivery or integration with smart home systems. People will pay a little more if they can have a cleaner, easier experience.

The products we’ve been testing are nothing like what’s out there now. Not only are they better products, but they are packaged and look and feel better, too. Accordingly, we’d expect nothing less than having them presented better and in a more engaging way in store. It would be a mistake to lump them in the abyss of all the other filter products out there.

We can’t wait to see these products at our local stores!
