For The Children?
“My children especially love to come and tell me the number (the Speck rating) and that it is in the good range. ”
Patrick’s anecdote, while amusing and seemingly innocuous, brings up an interesting opportunity. What if our children learned the importance of this issue? They don’t have a clue now, just like most of us, but what if the Filtrete + Speck digital experience could become a catalyst for education, resources, and care, just like other environmental movements that have gained traction in recent years? From resources online, to social media videos and posts, to school programs, there’s opportunity to galvanize the next generation. And this next generation, if motivated and empowered enough, can bring these newfound perspectives home, essentially being the educators and instigators for clean air for their families.
While this may seem to be a down the road opportunity, being mindful of this upon product launch and keeping children’s programs as a part of future planning can set the experience up to become a movement. Passion should not be overlooked, even if it comes from unexpected places. Perhaps assessing children’s interest in Filtrete + Speck is worth a deeper look even today; the gamification and in your face data aspects could be the beginning of a powerful change in how the future thinks about clean air.
