Filter Recycling
We don’t recycle filters today, but there’s a strong desire to do so in the future:
- I currently put my used filters in the trash. Filters that are recyclable are always a plus.
- I just put them in the trash, but with this kind of filter, it would be best if it will be recycled properly.
- I throw them away but feel there should be a friendlier process.
- I currently take my old filters to the landfill and while it is a recycling station, I have never seen a specific place for this item. It is always accepted in the container with household garbage. If the new filter was equipped with the sensor to pair with the monitor/app, I assume the battery in the sensor would require a different disposal method. I do not know what would be required, as in, could I remove the sensor and dispose of with batteries, etc.?
- I currently throw them in the trash, but if recycling was an option that would be my preferred and new way to dispose of filters.
What if there was a Filtrete subscription service that included a recycling program? A new filter shows up at our door at the appropriate time, with along with a bag to recycle the old filter. Or, we could place our old filter on our doorstep after being alerted by the app that our new filter will arrive within 24 hours, and it’s carried off for recycling for us upon the new filter delivery.
Regardless of how it’s conducted, we are in favor of a formal recycling program. Every little thing we can do matters!
