“Clean” Has Marketability
Pets. Dust. Pollution. Stale air. There’s a lot of yuckiness that can contribute to our air filters looking and feeling plain dirty. However, changing filters gives us that “clean” feeling – both for our filter and our in-home air quality.
In fact, many of us change our filters as part of our housecleaning routines. It’s part of ridding our homes of the “ick” and providing a healthy environment for our families. We know that dirty filters aren’t disease-ridden, but gross-looking filters do cause us to think our home is just as gross. Conversely, a clean filter spells a clean home.
Seeing filter advertisements that remind us of “clean” and caring for our families would actually be a welcoming sight. Filters are out of sight, out of mind, so if an ad campaign reminds us of things like “spring cleaning” and care for the health of our families, we’d really resonate with that sentiment. After all, part of the filter replacement is being good protectors and caretakers from the ick.
Air filters are a barometer for cleanliness and health:
“Air quality could be a silent killer. You should always clean something you use every second of your life.”
“We live by a freeway and with all the dust and cars passing by, it is important that we keep clean filters all the time. We at times have to change filters more often when painting or construction work is going on in or around the house. It’s just helps feel clean.”
Others feel that we can literally breathe easier with a clean filter:
“It is easy to remember to change our filter because my son and I have asthma and changing it helps keep clean air flowing through our house. If I don’t change it, we start having more asthmatic episodes with all the dust and odors.”
There’s a sense of emotion and protection associated with clean air filters:
“I have small kids, and I want to maintain a healthy environment for them. Purchasing filters is a good experience because I know I am doing the right thing for my family.”
“I have small children, and I do not want them to have any health issues as a result of bad air quality.”
